Consider Nicstalgia your cultural literacy guide to navigate the nostalgia industrial complex. This newsletter has the rigor of a Pop Culture PhD with the fun of a glossy 2000s teen magazine. It developed out of the Nicstalgia video podcast, the show I created in 2022 to have deep conversations about superficial things.

Whether it’s an esoteric deep-dive down a pop culture rabbit hole or an unexpected take on cyclical trends and nostalgia plays, we curiously explore ephemera and phenomena that you either totally forgot about (or never stopped thinking about).

Here at Nicstalgia, we love examining the past through a contemporary lens, probing pop culture’s most fun, playful, absurd, and bizarre moments, and delving into how the cultural zeitgeist shapes our society (and vice versa).
